Part of the 12 Moments Festival, the exhibition transforms return, identity and belonging into ceramic, photographic and poetic installations.
At Swinton Gallery, multidisciplinary artist Rocío Madrid presents ‘BIENVENIDA’, her first solo exhibition in Madrid, included in the twelfth edition of the Moments Festival. On view from October 17 to November 29, 2025, the show unfolds as a poetic reflection on coming back, rebuilding oneself and finding tenderness in everyday life.
Through ceramics, photography and installation, Rocío Madrid builds an intimate geography where love and everyday struggle coexist. In ‘BIENVENIDA’ the artist reconciles with her native city, Melilla, and with the idea of home as a living place that must be learned again. Roses appear as small gifts, a hand painted shirt becomes a diary, a clay vessel turns a verse into matter. Each piece observes the city by walking it, listening to passersby, registering traces that speak of belonging and transformation.
Born in 1988, Rocío Madrid combines her artistic practice with cultural management and independent publishing. She has shown work at Galería Nueva in Madrid and Richas Digest in Cologne within the Photoszene Festival, and she frequently participates in artist book fairs such as Libros Mutantes, Miss Read and NoPhoto. As a contributor to VEIN, SHIFTA and Clavoardiendo, she writes about contemporary culture and the ways territory shapes artistic practice.
‘BIENVENIDA’ opens on October 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the presence of the artist at Swinton Gallery, C/ Miguel Servet 21, Madrid.
