‘Shapes of Self’ explores the body as a territory in flux, inspired by posthuman thought and Donna Haraway’s ‘Cyborg Manifesto’. Through synthetic hair, skin-like textures and sculptural silhouettes, the body is reimagined as a symbolic organism—mutant, protected and emotionally expressive. The editorial challenges normative beauty standards, embracing hybrid forms that evolve through vulnerability, intimacy and transformation. Conceived and styled by Guadalupe Carballo, the series is part of her final project for the Master’s Degree in Fashion Styling and Communication at ESDI Barcelona.
