Bringing out our inner Mama’s Girls at Jenny Fax

09 / 03 / 2026

While Paris chases spectacle, Jenny Fax builds a world of quiet oddities. For FW27, Jen-Fang Shueh turns family, memory, and girlhood into something intimate and uncanny—fashion less as costume, more as character.

Big French houses have dominated headlines while Jenny Fax has carved out a distinctly singular niche in the Parisian fashion tapestry. Jenny Fax Fall/Winter 2027 presentation was more installation‑style than a traditional runway spectacle which fits her, she has created an intimate world where women are seen in all different facets. Where larger houses built worlds, she built personalities: garments that feel like stories you want to inhabit rather than costumes you merely admire. Her nuanced, character‑driven narrative continues to expand the vocabulary of crafting not just clothes but identities.

I point the above out because at the end of the day we want to be seen more than our clothes and many designers don’t know how to strike the balance as designer Jen‑Fang Shueh who centers on portraying women not as passive subjects of fashion. There were dramatic silhouette twists, whimsical layering, lingerie‑like elements reimagined as outerwear along with a nostalgic yet uncanny vibe where traditional “girly” details are amplified to surreal effect.

Underneath it all she drew on the theme of family. «Today, when everything feels fast and convenient, I often wonder what really makes myself different. I think it is something personal, something that cannot be replaced. In this show, there is a large piece of furniture on stage something familiar, like you would find in any home. It reminds me of childhood trips, when we brought back small souvenirs and kept them as memories. Those little objects became quiet reminders of the moments we shared. Family makes you special.» Shueh stated in the show notes.

Family is made up of different personalities like the collection. For those seeking fashion that feels both intimately human and beautifully strange, Jenny Fax once again proved that the most compelling collections aren’t always the loudest.
