The broken heart as a place of pause and stillness. Self-love as a process of deconstruction. Cupid, are you there?

“CUPID: Of Golden Arrows and Tears” is a photographic project photographed by Paula Sixto that takes the figure of Cupid as its starting point, revisiting it from a more intimate perspective. Instead of presenting him as the one responsible for love in others, this work positions him as a body pierced by his own arrow, shifting the gaze inward and making him vulnerable. Through this wound, the project speaks of self-love as an uncomfortable and less-than-idealized process. Not from an epic or romantic standpoint, but from fragility, weariness, and the need to stay. The wound appears not as punishment, but as a beginning: a point from which to start listening to oneself and inhabiting oneself.
