Javier Guijarro drifts into Paris like a forest dream. Between folklore and teenage rebellion, his latest collection wanders through dusk-lit woods where clothes feel less like fashion and more like fragments of a story still unfolding.

Catalan designer Javier Guijarro turned his attention towards Paris this season showing his collection felt like a dreamscape suspended between folklore and youthful rebellion during Fashion Week. We entered the show space in the dark, a bit lost except for slightly illuminated dry branches scattered across the scenography before the show unfolded with the quiet atmosphere of a forest at dusk for a collection who’s influenced ranged from the two young protagonists in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s film Monster to the animated series Over the Garden Wall,
Within this setting, Guijarro reworked elements of a traditional wardrobe through tactile materials and playful silhouettes. Dresses opened into wide slashes and fringed edges, creating movement that felt airy and slightly pirate-fairy like. Some skirts billowed softly, others wrapped loosely around the body. Styled by Alba Melendo, the looks carried a sense of lived-in spontaneity. Small details felt almost talismanic with little knots of memory that added texture and narrative to each look.
The palette remained close to the earth with browns, mossy greens, bluish greys, and washed oranges dominated, occasionally interrupted by luminous flashes of white. One delicate white skirt, punctured with tiny holes and wrapped loosely around the waist like a sheet, stood out for its fragile brightness while a ruffled leather jacket unfolded like a cape.
Accessories extended the collection’s nomadic mood from hats to collaboration with Converse subtly transformed with some pairs appeared dusty and worn. Bags resembled travelers’ sacks, hovering somewhere between a canvas duffel and a mythic bindle tied to a wandering stick. If anything else this fall, make it your mission to walk in the forest, nothing is more beautiful than nature itself.
