Versace and Onitsuka Tiger introduce the TAI-CHI Sakura sneaker, a refined hybrid silhouette unveiled during the Spring/Summer 2026 runway in Milan.

The body sets the rhythm. The collaboration between Versace and Onitsuka Tiger unfolds through a single idea: movement as design. First introduced on the Spring/Summer 2026 runway in Milan, the TAI-CHI Sakura reinterprets one of the Japanese brand’s most minimal silhouettes through a sharper, more tactile lens.

Produced in Japan, in the Sanin factory in Tottori, the sneaker brings together two distinct traditions. Japanese precision meets Italian materiality, resulting in a construction that feels both controlled and sensorial. Soft nappa leather and suede are treated through washing techniques that create a slightly worn surface, introducing variation and depth into each pair.

The silhouette remains deliberately close to the foot. Its low profile and flexible structure shift the sneaker away from performance-driven bulk and towards a more intimate relationship with the body. It moves easily between references, somewhere between a trainer and a slipper, allowing gesture and posture to define its presence.

Visually, both identities coexist without friction. The Onitsuka Tiger stripes retain their structure through reinforced stitching, while Versace introduces subtle markers such as the Medusa hardware and embossed finishes. The result is a shared language that balances discipline and expression, restraint and ornament.

The campaign, captured by Frank Lebon, reinforces this direction. Movement replaces stillness, energy replaces pose. The sneaker appears in motion, aligned with the body rather than detached from it, extending the collaboration beyond object into experience.

Available in a range of finishes, from soft pastels to darker tones and metallic variations, the TAI-CHI Sakura maintains a consistent proposition: a shoe designed to move with the wearer, following the body rather than framing it.
