Free Rein at Hermès

For Spring/Summer 2026, Hermès loosens the reins. Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski channels the free-spirited horsewoman—where craft meets sensual ease, and tradition rides effortlessly into the now.

Hermès has mastered the rare ability to resonate across generations, from Gen Z to horse girls and women who have long embraced silk-printed carrés.  Rooted in craftsmanship and discretion, the house speaks to a desire for authenticity, which many young people crave today over excess. For younger audiences, Hermès’ appeal lies in its refusal to chase trends like a quiet rebellion against fast fashion. Through its ready-to-wear, beauty, and not to miss events like the annual Saut Hermès at Grand Palais, Hermès bridges eras with pieces that feel equally at home in a grandmother’s wardrobe and her granddaughter’s TikTok post.

For Spring/Summer 2026, designer Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski for Hermès envisioned a horsewoman with her reins loosened, moving through wind, salt, and sunlight. The collection captured the balance between discipline and liberation, merging the house’s equestrian codes with a fluid, spontaneous sensuality.

Softly structured silhouettes made up of cropped equestrian jackets, asymmetrical quilted skirts, and corset-inspired dresses revealed the body without constraint. The craftsmanship of the saddler met the delicacy of couture through hand-waxed leathers, boutis-style quilting, and harnessed brassières layered over diaphanous cottons. Accessories and styling embodied creative freedom with silk carrés twisted into tops and chokers, belts cinching fluid coats, and airy knits letting light play across the skin. Vanhée-Cybulski reaffirmed Hermès’ celebration of female independence rooted in mastery, not spectacle.
