Charlie Le Mindu speaks the radical language of hair with SKINS

02 / 02 / 2026

Charlie Le Mindu doesn’t require an introduction because his style is difficult to categorize but best experienced. He combines fashion, art, and hair, but it’s the latter that made him famous with his stunningly odd and startling designs. With a provocative spirit, the Haute Coiffeur has joined Haute Couture Week this season SKINS celebrating raw beauty and the power of body hair. Hair acts as our second skin.

This collection challenges gender norms, beauty standards, and the brittle line separating the natural and the manufactured. Skin is the armor, and hair is the skin. The body is neither softened nor rectified. It is intensified. The notion that empowerment needs to be desexualized in order to be taken seriously is rejected by SKINS. It refuses shame and denies consent. You are both desirable and independent. You have the ability to be both gentle and aggressive. You don’t have to belong to anyone to enjoy being seen. The restraint and the reluctance to dilute the message are punk. Photographer Thomas Lizzi takes us for a closer look at the radical creations.
