A Mediterranean island shaped by nightlife, freedom and escapism has also become one of the most unexpected meeting points for contemporary art. CAN Art Fair Ibiza returns from June 25 to 28 for its fifth anniversary edition, reaffirming its position as one of the key boutique art fairs of the European summer calendar.
Founded by Sergio Sancho and curated by Saša Bogojev, the fair continues to grow through a carefully selected invitation-only model that prioritises curatorial coherence over scale. More than 30 national and international galleries will participate this year, with around 70% coming from outside Spain. New additions include Patricia Low Contemporary, Mayoral, Georgina Pounds Gallery, Good Mother Gallery and VERVE.

The 2026 edition places particular emphasis on material experimentation and emerging artistic languages. Alongside painting, visitors will encounter textile works, mixed-media installations and sculptural proposals, reflecting the fair’s evolving curatorial direction. The programme also brings together major figures of modern and conceptual art with younger artists shaping contemporary visual culture today. Works by Leonora Carrington, Mario Testino, Erwin Wurm and Stefan Brüggemann will coexist with emerging names such as Savannah Harris, Javier Ruiz and Ubay Murillo.
Beyond the fair itself, CAN continues to activate Ibiza’s wider cultural landscape through its month-long OFF Programme, running from May 29 to June 28 across emblematic spaces on the island and Formentera. Public art interventions, local collaborations and CAN Design, dedicated to collectible design and disciplines between art, craftsmanship and architecture, further reinforce the fair’s multidisciplinary identity.
