Sport meets balletcore in the SS26 New Balance Flat Breeze, the brand’s latest take on low-profile footwear.
A lighter idea of movement defines the season’s new hybrid footwear. New Balance Flat Breeze arrives as part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2026 lineup, bringing together the practicality of a sneaker, the delicacy of a ballet flat and the strap construction of a Mary Jane.
The model marks a softer turn for New Balance, moving away from the chunky proportions often associated with its running silhouettes. Designed as a women’s-exclusive release, it features breathable mesh, soft suede overlays and a cut-out upper that reveals the instep. Traditional laces are replaced by two elastic crossover straps, finished with a small bow that reinforces its ballet-inspired mood.
Its rounded toe recalls classic New Balance shapes, while the low, flat sole keeps the comfort and cushioning expected from the brand. First released in South Korea in late April 2026, the Flat Breeze debuted in black and white and retro red before expanding into metallic silver and mint green, shades that underline its summer appeal.
Light, minimal and easy to wear, the Flat Breeze joins the wider rise of sleek hybrid footwear, where sport, fashion and dance codes meet in silhouettes designed for everyday movement.
