Colour spills across silk, crochet and jacquard as Ulla Johnson’s Resort 2027 collection translates the painterly universe of Cassi Namoda into a tactile and emotionally rich wardrobe.

Known for blending artisanal techniques with a distinctly bohemian sensibility, the New York label Ulla Johnson has built a fashion language shaped by embroidery, handcrafted textiles and global references. Resort 2027 expands that vision through a collaboration with Cassi Namoda, whose expressive paintings inspire the collection’s colours, florals and textures.

Several of Namoda’s works, including ‘Arafah Gaza’s Appearance’, ‘An Ode to a Tropics Rose’ and ‘Florist of Nostalgia Playground’, become the starting point for oversized botanical prints on silk dresses, airy chiffon and richly woven jacquards. The brand absorbs their atmosphere and translates it into fabric.

The emphasis on craftsmanship continues throughout the collection. Hand-crocheted dresses sit alongside embellished knitwear and rosette embroidery, while black-and-white fringe pieces introduce movement and sculptural depth. Denim also receives a fresh interpretation through curved barrel-leg jeans and matching bombers woven with feather-like motifs that gradually emerge through wear.

The collaboration feels like a natural meeting point between two creative worlds. Namoda’s intimate visual storytelling and Johnson’s attention to material and construction come together in a wardrobe that is colourful, tactile and quietly poetic.
