Six genderless fragrances bring the experimental language of Maison Margiela’s Artisanal Atelier into perfumery, exploring emotion through deconstructed ingredients and sculptural refillable bottles.
‘Blaze of Stillness’, ‘Silent Fury’, ‘Anguish and Awe’, ‘Tender Defiance’, ‘Delight in Despair’ and ‘Fit of Folly’ form the six emotional chapters of Scentsorium, the new haute perfumery collection by Maison Margiela. Expanding beyond Replica, the six genderless fragrances reinterpret the experimental language of the house’s Artisanal Atelier, distilling, reshaping and recombining raw materials to express the contradictions and emotions that define human experience.
Each fragrance represents a chapter in life. ‘Blaze of Stillness’ pairs orange blossom, fig and suede to evoke hope, while ‘Silent Fury’ blends smoky tobacco, spices and patchouli into quiet rebellion. ‘Anguish and Awe’ explores vulnerability through rose, geranium and black leather, and ‘Tender Defiance’, created by Dominique Ropion, contrasts metallic liquorice with incense and fir balsam.
The story concludes with ‘Delight in Despair’, combining saffron cream, musks and burnt woods to capture nostalgia, and ‘Fit of Folly’, where patchouli, musks and amber woods embrace acceptance.
The bottles echo the same philosophy. Inspired by early twentieth-century crystal decanters, their fractured silhouette, mirrored collar and couture-inspired label reference the house’s deconstructed design language. Refillable construction reinforces their role as lasting objects rather than disposable packaging.
Available in 75 ml bottles and a discovery set featuring all six scents, Scentsorium offers a new way to experience fragrance through craftsmanship, emotion and experimentation.
