“BLACK OPIUM is pure adrenaline – that raw, electric energy of a night out. It doesn’t play it safe, and that’s exactly why I love it. I’m so excited to be the new Global Ambassador because this fragrance is really an invitation to embrace your most unapologetic self, turn up the music, and bring everyone along for the ride.” – Alisha Boe

YSL Beauty has entered a new chapter for its iconic Black Opium fragrance that has long reigned as the ultimate “party girl” signature, announcing actor Alisha Boe as its latest Global Ambassador who instinctively embodies the spirit of a new kind of “It Girl” for Gen Z full of cool-girl energy. Known for her effortless confidence and authentic screen presence, Boe embraces individuality, self-expression and living unapologetically. Her partnership arrives alongside the launch of Black Opium Pink Glaze, a fresh gourmand interpretation that captures the house’s signature blend of boldness and sensuality.
Since her breakout performance in 13 Reasons Why, Boe has built a career portraying complex, emotionally resonant characters. From Poms and Yes God, Yes to Jesse Eisenberg’s When You Finish Saving the World, she has continued to establish herself as one of Hollywood’s most compelling young actors. She is currently filming the third season of The Buccaneers, further cementing her status as a rising international talent whose fearless approach mirrors the spirit of Black Opium.
More than a fragrance campaign, the collaboration reflects YSL Beauty’s celebration of confidence, authenticity and modern femininity. Boe brings a relatable edge to the Black Opium universe, embodying the house’s balance of audacity and elegance while introducing the fragrance to a new generation. To mark her appointment as YSL Beauty’s new Black Opium Global Ambassador, we caught up with Alisha Boe to discuss the campaign, confidence, and what this new role means to her.

You are from Norway, but also grew up in California. Are there smells from your childhood that still shape how you understand emotion or intimacy on screen?
The air in Norway is so fresh it’s hard to describe. When I step off the plane, it immediately feels like it’s healing my lungs.

Is there a particular smell that instantly takes you somewhere else almost like stepping into a character?
When I first smelled Pink Glaze, it was sweet but not innocent – juicy and a little wild, the kind of sweet that dares you to want more. Then I love when it gets that coffee edge – like the last espresso shot before you head out the door for the night. I’m a big coffee girl. I usually make myself a pour-over at home.

Perfume is often about attraction and aura, its invisible but powerful. What first resonated with you and Black Opium?
I have been a fan of the scent for a while so being the face of Black Opium felt like such an organic partnership. The Black Opium girl to me is fun, unapologetically herself, and daring. She’s magnetic and smells damn good walking into any room.
Catherine Deneuve, Paloma Picasso, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Zoë Kravitz are eternal muses. Do you have a favourite “It Girl”?
I couldn’t name one, but these women have always inspired me – Sade and Stevie Nicks.

If Black Opium was a playlist, what would you include?
First song would be Gimme More by Britney Spears. Then Down to Zero by Joan Armadtrading. And Int’l Players Anthem by UGK and OutKast.
And finally, we will be seeing you as the center of the new chapter with the perfume, but where else will we be seeing you soon?
I’m about to wrap the third season of The Buccaneers. It’s a big season for Conchita so I’m very excited for people to see.
