Cinema, dressing up and transformation shape a beauty look built through colour, contrast and graphic gestures.
Two motifs repeat throughout the beauty proposal at Dries Van Noten SS27. Lips are split into contrasting shades, alternating deeper reds and softer pinks between the upper and lower lip. Around the eyes, black lines cross the eyelid or sit beneath it, turning eyeliner into a precise graphic element.
The makeup mirrors the collection imagined by Julian Klausner, inspired by cinema and by the idea of an actress moving between the set and everyday life. The play with colour on the lips also connects naturally with Dries Van Noten Beauty, where lipstick sits at the heart of the makeup line. Vintage film posters informed a wardrobe where cocktail dresses coexist with rugby shirts, jewellery, gloves, embroidery and vivid prints.
Beauty extends that same sense of transformation. A change in colour, a single black line or an unexpected contrast is enough to shift the mood and keep something of the character alive after the scene ends.
