Breaking her own rules, Phoebe Philo revisits her signature codes through an art of contradiction, embracing unexpected volumes, historical references and a new sense of creative freedom.

Three years after launching her namesake label, Phoebe Philo is taking her familiar designs in unexpected directions. Her sixth release, Collection F, arriving in early 2027, brings extravagant volumes, unusual textures and historical references into her distinctive contemporary wardrobe. Oversized shirts, relaxed trousers, cropped bombers and sharp tailoring remain. But this time, detachable bustles, padded trains and cascading ruffles introduce a theatrical dimension, recalling nineteenth-century silhouettes.

The surprises continue in the fabrics. Sculptural trains appear in humble calico, sequins are made from leather, and feathers embellish jersey. A tailored top is worn backwards, while distressed mohair and oversized shearling add texture. Among the muted tones, vivid red dresses stand out. There’s a playful tension between practicality and extravagance. Philo pairs dramatic volumes with everyday basics, finding humour and freedom in combinations that might once have seemed out of place in her collections.

Her approach to fashion also leaves room for continuity. Rather than reinventing the wardrobe every season, she develops familiar pieces over time, allowing new ideas to emerge alongside established favourites. Long associated with dressing the modern woman, Philo now seems interested in exploring what lies beyond that definition. With Collection F, even the most eccentric gestures feel like a natural extension of her world.
