Three collections into her tenure at Bottega Veneta, Louise Trotter is beginning to make the house her own. Spring Summer 2027 reveals a clearer balance between craft, movement and ease.
Since Louise Trotter took the helm of Bottega Veneta as creative director, her work has been a gradual exercise in refinement. Her Spring Summer 2026 debut marked her first collection as Matthieu Blazy’s successor, pushing intrecciato, volume and atelier technique. Fall Winter 2026 brought greater control through tailoring, leather and architectural structure.
That evolution becomes clearer in Spring Summer 2027. Crochet, handmade lace, fringe and open constructions bring movement and softness, while tailoring loosens and colour appears in lilac, butter yellow and vivid red.
In its presentation of the collection, the house places particular emphasis on lightness, linking it to seasonal change and the gradual shedding of layers. The idea also captures Trotter’s current approach to Bottega’s craft, giving technically complex pieces more air, ease and freedom around the body.
She began by exploring the possibilities of the house, continued by refining them and now gives them more space to breathe. Bottega carries a mosaic of codes shaped by successive creative directors, and the interest lies in seeing how Trotter continues to sharpen the intersection between those essential codes and her own vision.
