An immersive performance by Helen Marten, featuring “thirty emotional weathers”, brings together sculpture, sound and language at the Palais d’Iéna.

As part of Art Basel Paris 2025, Miu Miu unveils ‘30 Blizzards.’, a new project by Helen Marten that extends her practice into live performance. Directed with Fabio Cherstich and featuring music by Beatrice Dillon, the work transforms the Palais d’Iéna into a living dialogue where thirty performers move among five sculptures and five videos, tracing passages from childhood to loss.Presented from October 22 to 26, 2025, with a preview on October 21, the installation blurs the boundaries between theatre and exhibition. A linear sequence of sculptural platforms and a slow industrial track establish a shared tempo, as containers circulate the space holding the symbolic “tools” assigned to each figure. The performers navigate a central civic set—part stage, part auditorium—where language, gesture and sound operate as a mutable grammar.

Two conversations, titled ‘Pleasure Image, Pleasure Text’ and moderated by Juliet Jacques, take place on October 22 with writers and poets exploring how words contour images and how bodies become metaphors. Together, the installation and talks propose a climate of feeling in constant flux: emotion as weather, narrative as atmosphere.

‘30 Blizzards.’ stands as one of the most anticipated highlights of this year’s Art Basel Paris, inviting audiences to experience the rhythm of emotion as both climate and language.
