The Japanese label introduces a new hybrid silhouette that fuses ballet flats with the sporting identity of one of its most iconic sneakers.

The line between sneakers and ballet flats grows increasingly blurred with a new generation of hybrid silhouettes. Onitsuka Tiger joins the conversation with GYMNARINA, a ballet-inspired design that reimagines the brand’s iconic MEXICO 66 through a lighter, more refined silhouette.

Built on the visual identity of the MEXICO 66, Onitsuka Tiger‘s latest design retains signature details such as the Tiger Stripes, the crossed heel construction and the distinctive heel flap, while introducing a sleeker profile inspired by classic ballet shoes.

Crafted from supple leather, GYMNARINA features elastic shirring around the opening for a flexible, foot-hugging fit and a lightweight sole designed for everyday comfort. Its interchangeable lacing system offers three styling options: rope-style laces with metallic aglets for a sportier finish, satin ribbons for a softer ballet-inspired look, or no laces at all for a clean slip-on silhouette.

Available in red, blue, black, silver and rose gold, GYMNARINA moves effortlessly between tailored trousers, relaxed denim and flowing skirts. The design reflects fashion’s growing appetite for footwear that balances athletic references with a more delicate silhouette.
