Chanel revisits Rouge Noir through a limited edition make up collection that prioritises depth, flexibility and modern wearability.

Few beauty shades have aged as well as Rouge Noir. Once provocative, it now feels quietly iconic. With this new limited edition collection, Chanel places the colour at the centre of a line for eyes, lips and nails, developed with global make up creative partner Ammy Drammeh.

Rather than relying on nostalgia, Drammeh breaks the shade down to explore its inner complexity. Rouge Noir reveals itself as more than red and black, opening into subtler, brighter undertones that bring freshness to its dark identity. This approach shapes a collection designed to feel intuitive rather than intimidating.

At its core sits Rouge Noir Confidence, a multi use palette for eyes and face that allows colour to remain sheer or build into intensity. The same idea runs through the line. The matte Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick is meant to be dabbed and blurred, turning a bold shade into something soft and wearable. Noir Allure mascara offers an even lighter entry point, delivering just a trace of the colour’s mood.

Balance comes through contrast, with Baume Essentiel Cute adding a touch of baby pink glow that offsets Rouge Noir’s depth. The result is a collection that treats darkness as adaptable, personal and expressive rather than fixed.
