Romance enters the rhythm of daily dressing in a collaboration where softness, practicality and quiet emotion move together.

A softer kind of everyday dressing takes shape in the new collaboration between UNIQLO and Cecilie Bahnsen. Launching on May 22nd, with dates that may vary by region, the collection brings the Copenhagen designer’s language of modern femininity, poetry and craftsmanship into dialogue with UNIQLO’s clear focus on thoughtful, functional design. Shot on Shodo Island in Japan, the campaign centres sisterhood, joy and connection, turning the landscape into part of the mood rather than a simple backdrop.

What makes the project feel compelling is the ease of the translation. Bahnsen’s world is still present in the soft volumes, the delicate textures and the sense of care in each silhouette, but here those gestures are brought closer to everyday life. Dresses, skirts, tops and light layers are built around comfort and movement, holding on to her romantic vocabulary while adapting it to the logic of repeat wear. The result feels gentle rather than precious, expressive without becoming distant.

That balance is where the collaboration finds its strength. UNIQLO’s simplicity gives structure to Bahnsen’s softness, while Bahnsen brings emotion to garments designed to be lived in again and again. Nothing feels overworked. The collection moves with calm confidence, making room for tenderness inside practical clothing and showing how daily essentials can still carry atmosphere, intimacy and a clear point of view.
