Miguel Castro Freitas debuts a new era of glamour at Mugler with Stardust Aphrodite SS26

Are we going back to glamour this spring? Looks like Miguel Castro Freitas is giving us his benediction as Mugler just unveiled Stardust Aphrodite, its Spring–Summer 2026 campaign and the first visual chapter under the creative direction of Miguel who joined the House in 2025. Conceived as a cinematic triptych, the campaign marks the opening of a new era of sculptural glamour rooted in Mugler’s iconic codes where power and provocation are reimagined.
“At Mugler, I’m drawn to strong, glamorous characters where power becomes visceral,” stated Castro Freitas in the press notes. “This campaign is about identity and transformation. These women refuse to be defined—they take control of the scene.”
Shot by Robi Rodriguez, Stardust Aphrodite unfolds like a neon hallucination, drawing inspiration from retro B-movie surrealism, midnight thrillers, and the hypnotic logic of dream cinema. The result is a charged visual universe suspended between danger and desire, where shadow, shimmer, and movement collide.

At the heart of the campaign are Mugler women as magnetic forces that are confident, enigmatic, and unapologetically commanding. Their silhouettes cut sharply through nocturnal industrial settings and stark architectural constructs, clad in sculptural tailoring, razor-sharp shoulders, and crystalline embellishments. These are the house signatures that have defined Mugler. Under Castro Freitas’ direction, these codes are sharpened and expanded. Known for his instinctive understanding of glamour and narrative, the Creative Director brings a renewed emphasis on character and tension where femininity is both timeless and radically forward.
Key looks from the Spring–Summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection include sculpted tailoring, draped leather, and architectural cuts, alongside the debut of Castro Freitas’ first handbags for the House: Lua and Aurora—objects conceived as extensions of the Mugler silhouette, combining structure, sensuality, and futuristic elegance.

The Mugler Spring–Summer 2026 collection will be available from January 2026 in selected boutiques worldwide and on mugler.com.
