Lightweight, elastic and inspired by the colorful plumage of finches, the first design from the collaboration between Camper and Issey Miyake merges craftsmanship, comfort and joy.
The collaboration between Camper × Issey Miyake opens with ‘Karst Finch’, a sneaker that revisits one of Camper’s most recognizable silhouettes, the ‘Karst’, while translating Miyake’s sense of movement and play into footwear. A supple, lightweight upper rests on the sculptural sole inspired by rocky karst formations, a hallmark of Camper’s approach to form and function. The model channels ease, flexibility and a precise sense of proportion that speaks to both houses’ devotion to design as a living process.
Following ‘Peu Form’, which celebrated the shared heritage of the two brands, ‘Karst Finch’ steers the dialogue toward joy. Its chromatic story draws from the vivid feathers of finches, small birds known for their melodic presence. This playful attitude extends to styling. Each pair arrives with two lace sets, one in a matching tone and another in contrast, inviting wearers to mix and personalize their look through simple gestures that shift the mood of the shoe.
Named for a bird associated with lightness and agility, ‘Karst Finch’ conveys a feeling of walking unbound through comfort, durability and a close fit. The project captures a mutual philosophy rooted in experimentation, longevity and the pleasure of everyday use. Rather than chasing novelty, it refines a familiar form and infuses it with color, texture and motion, turning a distinctive sole into a canvas for rhythm and play across the season.
