Because sometimes all you need to create something new…. is an old magazine, a pair of scissors, and the courage to remix it.

A few months ago, something magical happened at the Escuela de Arte San Telmo in Málaga. Vein Magazine landed in the classroom with boxes of archived issues, editorials, covers, forgotten pages, bold typography, glossy faces, textures, colors, stories. Our past became their playground.
The result? A dreamy, hands-on workshop called Fashion Postcards, where students transformed our magazines into intimate collage universes. No rules. Just scissors, glue, instinct and a lot of personality.

The idea was simple: create fashion postcards using collage as a storytelling tool. But what came out of it was anything but simple. The workshop idea by Conchi Rosas, Fashion Coordinator of EASD, was led by Marc Aleixandri, winner of this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award. His vision, his sensitivity to construction and concept, and his fresh perspective make him the perfect guide for the next collage generation. Participants sliced through pages, deconstructed silhouettes, mixed decades, blended softness with rebellion. A lip here, a boot there, a headline turned into poetry. Each postcard became a tiny manifesto, about identity, aesthetics, nostalgia, future visions. Fashion, but make it personal.

Seeing our own archive reinterpreted through new eyes felt powerful. It was about giving our history away so someone else could rewrite it. That same afternoon, the finished postcards were exhibited at El Kiosquito, a new cultural space right in front of the school. Think: independent magazines, specialty coffee, creative conversations, and the kind of atmosphere where ideas linger longer than your espresso.
The postcards lived there for a few hours — pinned up, photographed, discussed — surrounded by the very same independent publishing spirit that Vein stands for. (Yes, you can also find Vein Magazine there.)
Now, we’re bringing those creations here, into this article, so the energy can travel beyond Málaga.
