Juan Vidal presents Jardín del Edén at #MBFWMadrid, paradise slips into something darker, where romance glitches, beauty feels restless, and nothing stays untouched for long. Backstage images by Tania Mendoza.

There was something slightly off, in the best way, about Juan Vidal’s show today. Titled Jardín del Edén, it wasn’t your typical paradise. Instead, it felt like Eden after dark: humid, restless, and charged with the kind of beauty that doesn’t sit still. At backstage, our photographer Tania Mendoza captured the atmosphere.

Fresh from a short but intense trip to Istanbul, Vidal translated the city’s layered chaos into clothes that moved between softness and control. Think sheer fabrics slicing through structured silhouettes, florals that looked more digital glitch than romantic print, and a palette that drifted from faded rose to deep, almost nocturnal greens. There was a rawness to it, less polished fantasy, more lived-in dream. Nothing felt too perfect, and that was the point.

Backstage, where we shot a series of exclusive photographs, the energy was even more telling. Models hovered in that in-between state. Half dressed, half somewhere els, while Vidal made last-minute adjustments with quiet precision. No drama, just focus. The kind that comes from knowing exactly what you want to say.

And what he’s saying right now is clear: romance isn’t dead, it’s just evolving. Less fairytale, more tension. Less garden, more undergrowth.
