“A quality or combination of qualities that gives pleasure to the mind or sense”. With this single sentence, Marc Jacobs introduces his FW25 26 collection and invites us to look deeper, starting with what lies underneath.

The undergarments from the new Marc Jacobs collection hold the heart of the story. Soft mesh, satin finishes, faded pastels. Some pieces feel borrowed from childhood, others like relics of old ads, stretched or shrunk into strange proportions. All of them speak of intimacy, not as decoration, but as emotion.

The collection, shown at the New York Public Library, starts from the inside out. These aren’t base layers. They are the look. Translucent bodies, high briefs, delicate bras in lilac, lemon or blush pink. Nothing is loud, yet everything feels exposed. The cuts are off, the scale uncertain, the effect deliberate. It’s beauty that’s been undone a little, made tender.

There’s a tension in the clothes: between soft and raw, memory and now. Some garments seem too big, others barely there. That friction becomes the point. It’s not about neatness, but feeling.
