For Spring Summer 2027, MARNI under the creative direction of Belgian-born Meryll Rogge, stripped away the unnecessary to reveal something more instinctive and individual. The beauty follows the same idea, with a luminous complexion, muted architectural shades and carefully placed touches of colour.
MERIT, the beauty brand founded on an approach to essential and timeless makeup, joins MARNI as the Official Makeup Partner for the season. Makeup artist Mel Arter created the look around skin that feels real, polished and dimensional rather than overly perfected.
The starting point is The Minimalist Complexion Stick, used to even, correct and soften the appearance of the skin while preserving its natural character. Great Skin Serum and Great Skin Moisturizer prepare the complexion, creating a smooth and luminous base. Lighter shades of The Minimalist bring light to the face, while deeper tones subtly define its contours.
The inspiration comes directly from the physical language of architecture. Stone, masonry and concrete inform a cool, desaturated palette, translating their surfaces and muted tones into the makeup. The result is refined but tactile, with the skin acting almost like a material in its own right.
On the eyes, Solo Shadow in Nelson and Sartorial introduces understated shades reminiscent of stone and concrete. The colours remain soft and restrained, allowing the texture of the skin and the structure of the face to remain central. On the lips, Signature Lipstick in 1990 brings a deep brown tone with a cool cast, adding definition without disrupting the pared-back character of the look.
The finished look feels modern precisely because it remains human. Skin is luminous but not artificial, colour is present but controlled, and every element has a purpose.
