Inspired by archival running silhouettes, the new collaboration between Nike and Veneda Carter introduces a glossy Racer Blue Air Max Muse with jewellery inspired details and retro athletic energy.
The world of sneakers often moves forward by looking back. Following the Nu-Romantic Sport trend, defined by the rise of ornamental performance, stylist and jewellery designer Veneda Carter returns to the archives of performance running for her latest collaboration with Nike, reinterpreting the Air Max Muse as a silhouette that blends technical heritage with a distinctly contemporary finish.
This new edition arrives in a crisp white base punctuated by bold “Racer Blue” inserts that appear almost liquid thanks to their glossy finish. The vibrant shade moves across the upper, highlighting the sneaker’s sculptural lines and emphasizing the futuristic curves that define the Air Max Muse. The result recalls the visual language of late 1990s and early 2000s running footwear while maintaining a polished, modern edge.
The Air Max Muse reflects Nike’s ongoing interest in reactivating its running legacy through hybrid designs. Instead of reproducing a single archival model, the sneaker combines references to multiple generations of Air Max innovation, from layered panel construction to the exaggerated contours typical of high performance running shoes.
Carter’s influence becomes most visible in the details. A metallic silver Swoosh contrasts against the blue panels, while the laces feature a detachable chain with the Nike logo. The charm echoes Carter’s jewellery work and introduces an ornamental touch rarely seen in performance inspired sneakers. On the tongue, a neon Air Max logo adds another bright accent that reinforces the retro athletic references behind the design.
The Nike x Veneda Carter Air Max Muse first launched exclusively on the Veneda Carter website on March 6 before receiving a wider global release on SNKRS on March 13, quickly positioning the model as one of the most talked about sneaker drops of the season.
