YSL BEAUTY’s Madrid Block Party proves the cool girls leave the club before midnight

22 / 03 / 2026

Are cafes becoming the new clubs? There’s something very now about refusing to wait until 11 p.m. to have a good time. Gen Z isn’t killing nightlife, they’re just giving it a glow-up, one that involves daylight, a little less alcohol, and a lot more intention. Call it soft clubbing if you want, but it’s really just the art of dancing, connecting, and still making it home in time to double cleanse. The chaos of sticky floors and 3 a.m. kebabs is being gently swapped for something a bit more… curated. And honestly, isn’t that the real luxury?

Enter YSL Beauty, which has decided that if the rules feel outdated, you simply shift them. The brand debuted its first-ever Block Party in Madrid, taking over the storied Café Comercial making the historical café more like a place to be seen. Madrid, increasingly, is stepping into its role as one of Europe’s most exciting cultural hubs, the kind of city where fashion, music, and beauty collide without trying too hard. You could feel that energy in the air.

The music lineup, made up of Carlita, Ismaelo, and Camporeale kept things moving early, with a crowd that didn’t need early morning darkness to loosen up swapping it or late afternoon. It was a guest list that felt algorithmically perfect blending in international and national faces from Aitana, Rina Lipa, Najwa Nimri, Lola Clark, Lola Lolita, Alessia Lanza, TingTing Lai, Marina Rivers, to Mónica Morán all orbiting the space like it was the place to be (because it was).

Of course, this wasn’t just about dancing before dusk. The moment also marked the launch of YSL LOVENUDE, a new hybrid nude lip that feels engineered for this exact kind of low-effort, high-impact outing. Global Makeup Artist Sam Visser was on-site before the party, giving the product a kind of performative life that blurred the line between backstage and party floor.

Madrid is just the beginning. New York is next, then London. But there’s something about starting here, in a city that feels increasingly central to Europe’s cultural conversation, that makes the whole thing click. YSL didn’t throw a party around a product, it dropped itself into the middle of a shift and makes it look like it was always meant to be there. Afterall, if we are running errands, going to work, brunch,  or clubbing, chances are you are doing it with some lipstick on.
