Torishéju explores group uniformity under the influence with DÜRER

With DÜRER, Torishéju turns the uniform into poetry—fragmented, reassembled, and charged with new identity at Paris Fashion Week

Photographer Thomas Lizzi takes us backstage for peek at the artistry and ingenuity at Torishéju during Paris Fashion Week following her 2025 LVMH Savoir-Faire prize. The collection was made up of floor-length black dresses adorned with wooden beadwork; classic, oversized black suits were displayed with extra sets of sleeves hanging from the front; light-washed denim jackets were stretched asymmetrically across the body to create full-length gowns; and midi skirts and dresses were entirely free of armholes.

Torishéju named her Spring Summer 2026 collection “DÜRER”, a study of the uniform as something far more than a symbol of conformity. Instead, she treated it as a flexible language; fragmented, reassembled, and charged with personal meaning by reframing the idea of the uniform, Torishéju explored how identity is shaped and reshaped in a world overflowing with competing influences.
