A grand townhouse becomes the setting for an unconventional Christmas fantasy, where family traditions meet playful details and unexpected encounters.
Antique furniture, polished wood and festive greenery set the scene for Miu Miu‘s Holiday 2026 campaign. Under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada, photographer Tina Barney captures Gigi Hadid, Louisa Jacobson, XiaoWen Ju, Crystal Fish, Georgia Martin, Momo and Nyla Singleton in a playful reinterpretation of bourgeois family traditions.
For decades, Barney has photographed affluent domestic environments, exploring family relationships and social rituals. Her carefully composed images reveal subtle tensions beneath ordinary moments. Here, she transforms the Christmas gathering into a theatrical portrait of Uptown life.
Styled by Lotta Volkova, the wardrobe combines upcycled knitwear with embroidered silk dresses, masculine tailoring with satin slips, and utilitarian cotton with sequins. Loafers, ballerinas and signature Miu Miu bags complete the looks. Bears, rabbits and geese created especially for the campaign accompany the cast through the townhouse, introducing a childlike absurdity into its formal interiors.
The fantasy continues in a short film directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, whose debut feature ‘The Ugly Stepsister’ reinterpreted Cinderella through a dark critique of beauty ideals. Her involvement brings another perspective to this world of traditions and unexpected behaviour. With art direction by Christopher Simmonds, the campaign finds humour in the contrast between impeccable appearances and playful disorder.
