silkdream premieres the official video for «You Went to New York» exclusively on VEIN Magazine. An intimate and cinematic piece about distance, change, and new beginnings.
silkdream moves between Barcelona and New York, somewhere between intimacy and impact. Formed by singer-songwriter Grauwi and pianist-composer Marta Cascales Alimbau, the duo creates a delicate yet emotionally raw kind of pop where voice and piano become the center of gravity. Their music feels cinematic but close, fragile but sharp, a space where contradictions naturally coexist.
Following the release of their acclaimed debut album Contradictions in February 2023, silkdream quickly caught the attention of both audiences and music press, bringing their live performances to concert halls and festivals across Europe and New York City. Now, while preparing their long-awaited second album, set for release in 2027, the duo is unveiling the video for «You Went to New York.»

The track tells the story of two friends growing apart after one of them moves to New York in search of new opportunities. Built around piano and voice, layered with strings and subtle electronic beats, You Went to New York unfolds like a coming-of-age film soundtrack, tracing uncertainty, distance, nostalgia, and the strange beauty of starting over. Produced together with Ariana Abecasis and released through Berlin label piano and coffee, the song captures that bittersweet feeling of watching someone you love evolve far away from you.
The accompanying video mirrors this emotional duality through understated visuals and intimate storytelling, reinforcing silkdream’s ability to turn vulnerability into something quietly magnetic.
