More than a decade of photographs, clothes and memories come together in a monograph that blurs the boundaries between fashion archive and personal scrapbook.
Some creative worlds are built as much from what is remembered as from what is designed. For Sandy Liang, photographs, childhood objects, Chinatown, friendships and clothes have long belonged to the same visual language. Now Rizzoli brings those fragments together in ‘Dressing Up: Sandy Liang’, the designer’s first monograph, arriving in September 2026.
The project began when Liang realised she had never created a formal archive of her work. Sketches had disappeared, runway material was scattered and much of the label’s history remained across phones, photographs and memories. That absence became the book’s starting point. 
The personal nature of the project extends to its contributors. Creative director Ava Nirui interviews Liang, while actor Greta Lee contributes an introductory letter. Their presence reinforces what runs through the entire book: the idea that Liang’s creative universe has always been shaped by the people, images and experiences around her.
