Your favorite saga is back, the whole city is attending its premiere. An hour before the official schedule, fans gather at the entrance, coded dressed as their favorite characters. The brand pledged more than half of the runway tickets to its community, the FINE CHAOS “Society”
It’s not cinema, but fashion as a medium for storytelling. ‘Ataraxis’, derived from Greek philosophy, translates to «peace of mind» and reflects a world shaped by war, political instability, and environmental collapse—exploring how human beings find calm amidst despair. The collection feels like an analogy for our complex times, encapsulating the drastic emotions we have experienced these recent years.
And talking about feelings, cold must´ve felt 20 actors scarcely clad in bandages portraying the outcasts of FC´s society in a side glass room just entering the backstage. Opposing that one, there was another stay in which all the clothes were displaced in racks all around. If you kept walking, and turned right, a kind of hall with gorgeous windows opened up to the make-up and hair specialists. They were occupying a lot of space, no wonder, they had to do super elaborate movie work on every model. You could tell the difference between the social groups that star in these stories.
We have the aftermath rebels/underdogs with a wet or sweaty appearance. Messy hair, messy black eyes, scars, and crazy updos or small braids. Another group is The Power of FC, these guys are the sleekhair ones. With a cable and the FC logo inserted in their heads. No visible brows, they look flat and pale in cool tones. These are the Alpha cast from the Brave New World novel. Lastly, we can find the Virtual Reality group. Anime hair with pointy ends and colorful contact lenses defined their appearance.
In addition to all this narrative? The garments and their intricate details—pockets, either extra-wide or rather slender statement pieces, belts with inscriptions—tie each character seamlessly to their respective social group.
Once at the catwalk, closing the sensory experience was techno-pop music at full volume, blending with the visuals, lighting, and setting. The rough-looking models with scars and pointy hair ends walked these sounds. I was taking pictures, and in between looks, I took my phone out to search for the songs. The internet didn´t give me an answer, but the Fine Chaos team did, it was the Danish music group Kind Mod Kind that was live experiencing the soundtrack for this immersive journey. I guess the World Wide Web doesn´t hold all the answers, but we humans must ensure to keep asking questions so that we might not find peace of mind, but at least invent more Araxis stories.
