For their second collaboration, the South Korean collective and the German footwear icon transform a simple stitch into the collection’s defining design language.

In ‘Thread‘, the humble stitch takes centre stage, becoming both a construction detail and a symbol of connection. ADERERROR and BIRKENSTOCK reunite for a second collaboration, launching globally on August 6, that explores the meeting point between craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Following their first collaboration in 2022, the two brands move from technical references towards a more tactile approach. Exposed stitching, oversized whipstitches and visible construction become the collection’s signature, celebrating the beauty of what usually remains hidden.

The collaboration revisits the Boston, BIRKENSTOCK’s iconic clog, as it celebrates its fiftieth anniversary. The classic Boston Cap arrives in black and camel with subtle stitched details, while the more experimental Boston Flap introduces a sculptural folded upper finished with bold whipstitching and ADERERROR’s signature Ultra Blue.
Photographed by Julian Song and creatively directed by ADERERROR, the campaign continues the same visual language. Minimal imagery draws attention to seams, textures and the gestures involved in making each pair, reinforcing the idea that the point where two worlds meet can become the most interesting part of the design.
At a time when collaborations often rely on spectacle, this release finds its strength in a precise gesture. A single thread is enough to reshape a familiar silhouette and bring two different creative universes together.
