The House of MUGLER unveils The Commander, its Fall-Winter 2026 campaign starring Vivian Jenna Wilson and photographed by Robi Rodriguez in a series of cinematic tableaux where power, desire and eroticism collide. The campaign presents Miguel Castro Freitas’ second runway collection, part of his ongoing Trilogy of Glorified Clichés, which revisits the archetypes that have long defined Mugler and its celebration of womanity. Here, power dressing becomes both armour and performance, exploring not simply authority but the seduction of power itself. “Power dressing has always been part of Mugler’s language, but I wanted to look beyond the obvious idea of authority,” says Castro Freitas. “What interests me is the seduction of power – why we are attracted to these symbols, and what happens when we decide to take them back for ourselves.”
Through Rodriguez’s lens, authority takes on an art-house sensibility that is theatrical, hedonistic and faintly dangerous. Wilson moves between commanding, observing, obeying and refusing, blurring the boundaries between vulnerability and authority, submission and control. Power can be performed, exchanged, weaponized or enjoyed as an expression of freedom, while the campaign asks: Who commands? Who obeys? Who is watching? Beneath the polished surface, something more instinctive emerges as Castro Freitas turns domination into theatrical excess, allowing beauty, eroticism and absurdity to coexist. In The Commander, power ultimately belongs to the one who refuses to be contained. The collection launches in selected boutiques and online next month.
