Forget the tragic love story. BIBENCIA is giving Shakespeare’s most famous heroine a new wardrobe, a new attitude and, most importantly, a story of her own.

VEIN MAGAZINE premieres the campaign photographed by Jordi Terry, captured just days ago, celebrating a Juliet who no longer waits to be rescued.
What if Juliet had a life beyond Romeo? What if the story wasn’t about forbidden love or a tragic ending, but about figuring out who you are when everyone else has already decided who you should be? For BIBENCIA, that’s where the real plot begins.
Presented at the 38th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion, Juliet takes one of literature’s most recognisable characters and pulls her out of the script. No more girl defined by an impossible romance. This Juliet is growing into herself, questioning the rules and learning that the most important love story might actually be the one she has with her own identity.
At the centre of BIBENCIA is designer Roberto Montes, who founded the label alongside his partner, Néstor Redó. Born in Madrid and based in Valencia, Montes took an unconventional route into fashion. After studying social work, he followed his interest in garment-making, developing his creative language through hands-on experience, experimentation and craftsmanship rather than a traditional design-school trajectory.
That instinct to create from a personal place runs through Juliet. The collection brings together the romance and delicacy of the Renaissance with a contemporary, rebellious edge. Fluid silhouettes, deconstructed garments and streetwear references create a tension between historical fantasy and the reality of dressing now. It’s romantic, but never passive. Delicate, but with a point to make.
Because let’s be honest: the idea of being the perfect heroine feels a little outdated.
